Working In Media with Bethany Church – Junior Editorial and Events Assistant

Bethany graduated in 2023, and soon after began working in a temporary role at Roxhill Media. This powerful database connects Public Relations with journalists, allowing them to deliver a news story with maximum exposure and impact to a targeted audience.

Keeping the journalist’s database up-to-date and ensuring the accuracy of the information held on each of them was one of Beth’s first tasks. Scouring LinkedIn and other social media platforms to ensure that the individual details were accurate and up to date gave her a great insight into the journalistic giant that is Roxhill Media.

Daily alerts within the world of journalism allow PRs to keep close tabs on their contact list of journalists. Beth is now responsible for these alerts and the highlights that are released daily. She also compiles the list of ‘Rox Stars’, for this, Beth uses Canva, one of the design tools she was taught here at Oxford Media & Business School.

As part of the events team, Bethany regularly uses platforms such as Eventbrite to focus on ticket sales for a wide variety of events, and she is responsible for updating the WordPress website, promoting tickets, organising and setting up rooms, and dealing with visitors face-to-face.

Beth has already met with some exciting clients such as Alex Kessler, the Junior Fashion Editor at British Vogue, Edwin Smith, Editor-In-Chief, at Spear’s, Stacey Smith of Crummbs UK, and Hugh Radojev, the News Editor at Retail Week.

Roxhill Media is located at the prestigious No 1 Poultry’s co-working space We Work, where Beth enjoys complimentary after-work drinks on a Thursday along with other perks such as shared conference rooms, cozy lounges, a dedicated games area, We Work even has a child and pet-friendly policy.
