Bella Christie started her jewellery business as a young teen, driven by a love of creating beautiful, stylish pieces. Fast forward a few years, and at just 19, she’s running a fast-growing product business with big plans on the horizon.
We spoke to Bella about how it all began, how studying at Oxford Media & Business School (OMBS) gave her essential business skills, and her advice for young entrepreneurs ready to launch…
What inspired you to start Bella Christie Jewellery?
It all began in 2019, when I was selling handmade jewellery at local street stalls during the Isle of Wight’s sailing regatta. People loved my designs, and it gave me the confidence to try more styles and move online.
Soon, I was selling through Depop, and then I launched my website in 2022, alongside building a strong presence on Instagram and TikTok. That’s when the brand really started to take off. At the time, I was still studying for my A-Levels!

What’s next for Bella Christie Jewellery?
I’m planning to move the business to London soon. Having an office and space to build a small team will be key for growth — especially as I scale up storage and fulfilment.
The long-term dream is to open a London storefront! Until then, I’m focused on getting my jewellery into independent boutiques across West London and beyond.

What advice would you give to other young entrepreneurs?
Start with a product that’s truly your own. Originality matters, and you want to avoid copyright issues. There are too many copycat brands out there already.
Then, make the most of free organic marketing! Learn how platforms like TikTok and Instagram work and use them to grow your audience without spending a penny. Consistency really does pay off.
And finally, don’t be afraid to show your face. Becoming the face of your brand creates a strong personal connection — even if it feels awkward at first.

How did studying at OMBS help you grow your business?
OMBS gave me practical skills that I’ve applied directly to my business. The Digital Marketing module was incredibly useful for strategically planning my social media and establishing an email list — both of which are vital for product sales.
Learning Excel in Advanced IT helped me establish processes to track finances, manage stock, and forecast more accurately — which saves me time and money.
But, it was the Personal Development sessions that made the biggest difference. They helped me understand the work environment I thrive in, and gave me the confidence to present my business professionally — whether I’m talking to collaborators, suppliers, or retail partners.
We’re so proud of Bella and can’t wait to see what’s next for her and Bella Christie Jewellery. You can follow her journey on Instagram and TikTok, or shop the latest collection on her website here.
