School Careers Resources

Throughout the academic year we give presentations and provide resources to schools as part of their Schools Careers Programme.

We would be happy to talk this through with you and tailor the content to fit your message and requirements. Presentations can be delivered in person in the classroom, in a workshop or as an online webinar.

The main things we discuss are the different routes to a career; none is right or wrong; better or worse. Each option will prepare students for a successful career in any business sector.

We illustrate the essential advanced workplace skills that employers want and how students can learn what they need to get a great job.

Please contact us if you would like to know more and discuss your requirements.

What students say

“OMBS was recommended to me after I realised that uni wasn’t for me and I loved the sound of a course that would give me the skills I would need in a work place whilst also having the ‘uni experience’ of living in Oxford. The course completely outdid my expectations and the extensive IT and office skills I now have, and my understanding of how the business world works, mean that I stand out against candidates who have just academic qualifications. Practice interviews and chats with recruitment agencies during the course meant that although I was nervous when interviewing for my first job, I knew what to expect and had some answers up my sleeve. Currently I am working for a start up internet company as a Team Assistant for an office of 15, where I use the skills I learnt at OMBS everyday”.

“I originally had a place at Oxford Brookes University to study Anthropology, however during my Gap Year, I realised that I was picking the course for the sake of going to university. After doing some work, it was evident that I wanted to get into the working world as soon as possible, rather than studying for three more years”.

“I graduated with a First Class degree from Nottingham Trent University and although I don’t regret it at all, I wasn’t using my degree to get a job. After two years I realised that coming to OMBS was the practical decision I needed for my next step. I have learnt so many skills that I never thought would be possible and have been given endless opportunities to prepare me for the workplace. Living in Oxford has been an amazing experience and I have met some great lifelong friends”.

“I had heard about Oxford Media & Business School from a friend and I decided to look into it. The Professional Business Diploma is highly regarded by a wide variety of employers and, having looked at the course content, I realised that this was the perfect alternative to university and would give me the skills I would need to follow the career path I wanted to take”.
